Your information, and what we do with it

When you register we ask for your first name and email, and optionally your last name, phone, whether you are coming in person or virtually, how many guests you are bringing, what you are interested in, how you heard about us, and anything we should know to make the day work for you.

The registration form ends with five optional questions: your home and work ZIP codes, your age range, your gender, and your race or ethnicity. Every one of them can be skipped or answered “rather not say”, and skipping them does not affect your spot. We ask because Bloom Day sits inside Blue Zones Week and the Blue Zones Project uses them to understand who the day reached. They are never shown on the site, never attached to your name in anything we publish, and never sent to our analytics.

The partner form asks for business details instead: your organization, contact information, and what you would bring. The vendor intake, now closed because every table is booked, asked the same, plus whether you hold a county health permit if you are serving samples. We never asked vendors for insurance details, because Bloom Day carries the event policy.

The Bloom Moai list asks for your name, your business, and an email or phone, because the circle is for women entrepreneurs and we need to know who you are before the first gathering.

The Digital Bloom Wall asks for a display name and a short message. Both are published on the site the moment you post them, so put nothing there you would not want read aloud.

The Hot Seat question form is genuinely anonymous. It stores your question and nothing else: no name, no email, no account. We read questions before they go on the screen, and the screen never shows a name.

To plan the day: 350 totes, passport stamps, tasting flights, chairs, and accessibility.

To send you your confirmation straight away, three reminders in the two weeks before October 18, and then occasional email about Bloom Day, the Midlife Bloom Method, and the Bloom Retreat.

If you tick the retreat box, your name also goes on the retreat founding list, which is a separate list with its own emails.

The Bloom Moai list is its own list too, with its own emails, because it is a separate commitment from the event.

To report back to the Blue Zones Project, in counts only: how many women came from which ZIP codes, and the age, gender, and race mix of the room. Those reports are aggregate figures, never a list of who answered what.

The event team, and the services that run this site: Netlify hosts the site and the database, and Zoho Mail delivers the email. That is the whole list.

Vendor table fees are paid on a Stripe page, and Stripe handles the card details there, so the card number never reaches this site or us.

We do not sell your information, rent it, or trade it with vendors or sponsors. A vendor at Bloom Day never receives the attendee list.

Bloom Day is filmed. the keynote, Menopause 101, and the live Q&A go out on a public livestream with replay access for 72 hours afterwards, a photographer works the room all afternoon, and we record the day for recap video. If you are in the room you may appear on camera or in the background, and the photo arch is there to be photographed at.

We use those photos and that footage to promote Bloom Day, the Midlife Bloom Method, and future events, on this site, in email, in print, and on social media.

If you would rather not be on camera, we hold a reserved section outside the camera frame. Tell us in the “anything we should know” field when you register, or find a volunteer at the door, and we will seat you there. If a photo of you is already published and you want it taken down, email us and we will remove it.

The stream shows the stage and the room. A Hot Seat question is never shown with a name on it, on the stream or on the screen in the room, because there is no name attached to one in the first place.

Registration and list information stays until you ask us to remove it. Vendor and partner records stay as long as we need them for the event and its follow-up. Hot Seat questions are deleted after the event, since there is nobody attached to them to notify.

Every email we send carries an unsubscribe header, which most mail apps show as an Unsubscribe button at the top of the message, and it reaches a person. You can also email or call us and ask to be removed, corrected, or sent a copy of what we hold, and we will do it.

To take something down from the Bloom Wall, email us with the display name you used.

Bloom Day is an adult event and the forms are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
